"I know very few get a window in life like I did to learn, test and make transformative change. And so now, I want to give back what I’ve learnt to everyone who doesn’t have ‘a window’."
Juliet Oliver, Founder of Endo45
Hey there, I’m Juliet Oliver, the mind behind Endo45. My story is one about the journey that spiraled from the depths of endometriosis to the creation of Endo45, a beacon of hope for all Endo Warriors out there!
It’s raw, it’s real, and it’s mine.
Turning 30 should have been a milestone, but for me, it was the start of a rollercoaster ride. Coming off the pill was like hitting a detonator. Suddenly, I was living with pain, the notorious "endo belly," and a fatigue so profound I felt like a zombie. My personal life took a nosedive; intimacy became a memory, and my energy for love and life was zapped. Endometriosis can be a lonely disease, especially if those closest to you can’t understand it’s not something you can just get over. On my worst days, I found myself in despair, wondering if I really would turn into the stereotypical "lonely cat lady" I was warned I would become.
Amidst this turmoil, my body waged war on itself—nutrient deficiencies, adrenal fatigue, chronic gut dysbiosis, inflammation and estrogen dominance, all painting a picture of a body and spirit on the brink. And yet, life goes on and has its own plans; a major career opportunity came knocking, thrusting me into upper management to build a division from scratch. I poured what little I had into this venture, often at the expense of my own wellbeing.
The lowest points saw me crumbling in my boss Justin's office, a mentor turned confidant, and now, co-founder of Endo45. His words, “Insanity is doing the same thing over and over and expecting different results. Dare to change”, struck a chord. As an engineer, I was built to solve problems, and this was my biggest challenge yet.
My medical odyssey was filled with misdiagnoses and dismissals. The first gyno shrugged off my symptoms as PCOS, offering a pill as a band-aid solution. Unconvinced and determined, I sought answers far and wide, amassing a treasure trove of data that no one seemed able to connect to endometriosis. It wasn’t until a top PCOS specialist in NZ laid eyes on me and instantly saw what others didn’t—that I didn’t just have PCOS; I was battling severe endometriosis.
Armed with this revelation, I plunged into six years of relentless research and self-experimentation, determined to unlock a way to live well with endo. This wasn’t just about me anymore; it was about offering a lifeline to others drowning in misinformation and misdiagnoses.
Fast forward through trials, errors, and breakthroughs, I not only achieved what many call "endo remission" but also clinched the title of Young Energy Professional of the Year in 2021, a testament to the resilience and tenacity of those who refuse to be defined by their conditions. And then, the greatest gift of all—my beautiful son, the spark of hope that life could bloom amidst the chaos of endometriosis.
Justin and I knew we had stumbled upon something monumental. With a shared vision and unwavering dedication, we crafted Endo45, not just as an App, but as a journey towards becoming "EndoFit" — a state where endometriosis no longer dictates your life’s narrative. It’s the culmination of years of research, conversations with the best and most successful in the field, a testament to the power of knowledge. It’s a tool designed to empower sufferers to reclaim their lives on their terms. It also keeps getting better and better every refinement and iteration because my motto has and always will be: Do the best you can until you know better. Then when you know better, do better.
So, here I am, inviting you to join this journey. If my story speaks to you, if you’ve felt the sting of endometriosis and yearn for change, or if your own work and passion is helping Endo Warriors and get the tools they need – Endo45 is for you. Together, with logic, grit, and a community that gets it, we can redefine what it means to live with endometriosis.
